Roll

Putting a true and consistent roll on the ball is, without a doubt, the most important fundamental to being a great putter. The top putters on Tour just seem to get the ball rolling consistently time and time again. But even the best players in the world need a little help from technology to get the most consistent and truest no skid roll in golf. The precisely milled and spaced grooves on the Two Bar Hybrid grip, hold, and release the ball into an immediate forward roll without any skipping or skidding (all Rife Putters feature RollGroove Technology™). Because of the gripping created by patented RollGroove Technology™ all Rife putters feature less loft than most other putters on the market (1.5-2 degrees).

Conventional Face Putters

A ball sits in a slight depression on the green. This is caused by the weight of the ball and gravity. Conventional putters must have 4-6 degrees of loft on the face to basically chip the ball out of its depression. This creates a slight backspin until the ball hits the ground and the friction of the grass causes the ball to skip or skid before it begins its true forward roll.

RollGroove Technology™

Rife Putters with RollGroove Technology™, utilize less loft because of the friction or gripping created by the grooves on the face. The ball is gripped rather than chipped, held through impact, and then released into an immediate forward roll. Without the grooves holding the ball through the depression, the ball would slide up the face (like it does with a traditional flat face putter) losing energy and creating very inconsistent distance control. With RollGroove Technology the effects of grass grain on your ball are greatly reduced because the ball is not skipping or skidding (high friction) but rolling immediately (low friction) so your ball will hold the line better and your reads will be truer.

Dual Response Insert Technology

Rife’s new Dual Response Insert technology allows the Two Bar Hybrid putter to have even more gripping effect because the CNC millied grooves grip the ball and the polymer backing absorbs the hit, allowing for slightly more dwell time. This creates even more control over the spin of the golf ball, which is the key to all aspects of golf.

Aim

Most amateur golfers take aiming their putter for granted despite the fact four out of five amateurs aim their putter as much as six-inches off target on a straight 12-foot putt! Hard to believe isn’t it? With the unique Two Bar Alignment System your aim will improve without making any changes to your setup. The Two Bars frame the ball and create a railroad track effect right to your target. Whether aiming a driver, iron, or putter, there is no better visual in golf than the railroad track. And with the Two Bar Hybrid the railroad track visual is built right into the putter, which makes aiming your putter correctly, second nature. Aiming your putter has never been easier or more accurate.

Great golfers never change their setup position when putting because they know in order to be great you must be consistent. You can not have a consistent and repeatable stroke path if your spine angle, hand position or ball position, is changing from one putt to another. Many amateur golfers struggle to get in a natural and athletic setup position because they do not have enough time to practice and their putter is not properly fitted to them. Not to mention, when it gets late in a round, golfers tend to start getting tired so their setup position changes without them even knowing it.

Thanks to the LieAline Custom Fitting System you have a built-in feedback mechanism that will literally talk to you. The vertical notch tells you that you are in the correct position every time you hit a putt. Utilize the LieAline Bending tool to adjust the lie angle of your Two Bar Hybrid so that each time you setup over the ball you see the full white line through the vertical notch (view image). DO NOT adjust your setup to the putter – adjust your Two Bar Hybrid to your natural setup position. This will ensure you are tension free at address, and within a single round of golf you will be developing a more repeatable and natural stroke path. This will give you more confidence and allow you to make more putts than you ever thought possible. (view the “Putting to Win” DVD, included with your Two Bar Hybrid for exact fitting instructions.)

Attach Lie Bender

Insert the putter face first, into the lie bender. (as shown here) Every Rife Two Bar Model includes a free lie bender tool.

Adjust Lie Angle

Secure the bender on both sides of the shaft with your feet, making sure the face of the putter is parallel or facing directly at your body. Gently bend the shaft in line with the face of the putter either up or down depending on whether you want it more upright or flatter. Don’t worry, the shaft will not break so long as you go with slow and repetitive pushes, going slightly further with each push. Do not try to bend it all in one big push.

Note: If you do not have a bender you may use your feet or a non-abrasive vise.

Feel

The best golfers all have great feel when it comes to putting. Some people are just blessed with exceptional feel or “touch” but everybody has some innate ability to judge how far a ball has to be thrown. The same goes for putting. Having a well balanced, properly weighted putter is essential to giving you the connection to the ball that makes it easy to judge distance and break. The Two Bar Hybrid’s Adjustable Speed Weighting System allows you to adjust the weight of your Rife Putter to match the speed of any green … or you can simply adjust the overall feel of your Two Bar Hybrid.

Combined with the silky-smooth feel of the RollGroove Dual Response Insert Technology, the ball will feel like it is in your hand and all you have to do is roll it. Until you try the new Two Bar Hybrid you can not truly understand how solid and smooth it truly is.

Customized Feel

The removable cylinders in the back of the two bars allow you to customize your putter depending on the speed of the greens. The general consensus among amateurs is that you would use the lighter weights for fast greens and heavier for slow but in fact on the PGA Tour, the exact opposite tends to be the case. Most tour players prefer to use a heavier putter on fast greens because it allows them to use the weight to create a consistent smooth stroke. However, this is a personal preference so you will want to test it yourself to see what works best for you.

Varying Configurations

The 2-bar putter can also be adjusted to change either the overall weight or the heel toe weighting without having to buy a new putter. If you are missing putts to the right of the hole try a lighter weight in the toe/outside bar and vice versa if your are missing putts left of the hole.
